Why we develop and produce in Kerry

No contract manufacturing, no anonymous supply chain: why our shakes are made in small batches at our own facility in the southwest of Ireland - and what that means for quality.

Slea Head, Dingle – Co. Kerry, Ireland

Every one of our tubs carries the same line: developed & made in Kerry, Ireland. That is not a marketing phrase - it is the shortest possible description of our business model. Everything that ends up in a nyce tub is made at our own small-batch facility in the southwest of Ireland.

What 'small-batch manufacturer' actually means for us

Many brands in the protein market work with contract manufacturers: the recipe comes from a service provider, production happens somewhere, the label carries the brand. That is legitimate - but it is not our way. With us, recipe development, manufacturing and quality control happen under one roof, in Kerry - in small batches rather than on an anonymous production line. That is exactly what we mean when we call ourselves a small-batch manufacturer.

The difference shows in everyday work: when we want to improve a recipe, we walk into our own development lab, not into a service provider's ticket system. When a batch is tested, we test it ourselves. And when something does not meet our standards, we decide - nobody else.

Deliberately against the current of the industry

The protein market is shaped by big players, and the more production scales, the more anonymous manufacturing often becomes. We chose the opposite: rather a few products we can fully stand behind than the broadest possible range made elsewhere. That does not make us the biggest in the industry - but behind every can there are people who know every step. Responsibility over scaling at any cost: that is the standard we want to be measured by.

A line from our own development

Our protein powder line is a development of our own house - and it is made by the same principle as everything we produce: recipe, production and quality control under one roof in Kerry. Every new recipe benefits from that short path between development and production - applied to a product category we are genuinely excited about.

Why Kerry, of all places?

The southwest of Ireland is one of the greenest regions in Europe: a mild Atlantic climate, plenty of rain, lush grass almost all year round. For a company processing milk protein, that is not a romantic detail but a real locational advantage - the pasture milk for our milk protein isolate comes exclusively from Irish pasture-based producers, and the distances from farm to production are short.

Short distances also mean full traceability. We know where our raw materials come from, and we see every production batch ourselves. That closeness is exactly why we print the origin so prominently on the tub.
